Fund Advisory
A documented answer to the fund question in front of you — and an honest account of what it does not settle.
Three candidates that look interchangeable on a factsheet. A client asking why last year’s recommendation lagged. A holding that no longer resembles the fund you selected.
Fund Advisory takes the question you have now and returns a documented answer: what the evidence shows, what it implies for the need you stated, and which points remain open. Where Fund Research & Selection builds and maintains a selection across a universe, Fund Advisory works a single question through to a conclusion you can put in front of a committee.
What you get
- A Fund Comparison Note setting the candidates side by side — strategy, portfolio characteristics, performance context and risk exposures — with the differences that bear on your decision identified, not tabulated and left for you to interpret.
- Advisor Talking Points: the same analysis compressed for a client conversation or a committee paper.
- A due diligence excerpt pack carrying the investment and operational evidence behind the comparison, including the findings that remain unresolved.
- Replacement candidates, assessed on the same basis, when none of the funds you brought fits the need you described.
A focused question can be answered on its own. Where it touches funds already under review, the response draws on the selection and monitoring work described under Fund Research & Selection.
When to bring us a question
- Two or three funds look equivalent on paper and you need to know whether they are.
- Performance or risk has diverged from what you expected, and the reason matters more than the number.
- A holding needs replacing, and the candidates should be assessed on a consistent basis.
- Your committee wants a documented second view on a recommendation your own team made.
The service is built for Swiss private banks, family offices, financial intermediaries and other professional users. Where the question is how several holdings interact rather than how one fund behaves, Portfolio Advisory covers the portfolio-level review.
How it works
Send the funds, the client context and the date you need it by. We work the investment and operational evidence that bears on your question rather than assembling a general description of each fund. The response is organised around the comparison, what it means for the need you stated, and the points that warrant monitoring or a further look.
The same independence rules apply to every advisory answer. As explained in Methodology & Independence, merit-based research conclusions are separate from commercial relationships. A commercial relationship cannot determine the advisory conclusion or selection status.
What Fund Advisory does not do
- The decision remains yours. Fund Advisory documents the basis for it; it does not assess suitability for a specific client.
- The response covers the question you bring. Where a fund needs a full selection conclusion rather than a comparison, that is the work described under Fund Research & Selection.
- These outputs support professional documentation and decision processes. They do not constitute an offer or solicitation, and are intended for qualified investors and professional users in Switzerland.
